2026年1月より、Googleの仕様変更に伴い、ブラウザ版Gmailの設定を利用して外部のメール（Yahoo!メール、プロバイダメール、個人のGmail等）を取り込んで受信する機能が廃止されます。

本学のGoogle Workspaceアカウントも対象となります。

現在この機能を利用している方は、2026年1月以降、外部メールが受信できなくなりますので、期日までに以下の手順で確認と対応をしてください。

1. 対象者の確認方法

PCのブラウザでGmailを開き、以下を確認してください。
　⑴ 画面右上の歯車アイコン [⚙️] ＞ [すべての設定を表示] をクリック
　⑵ [アカウント] タブをクリック
　⑶「他のアカウントのメールを確認」 の項目を見る
　・メールアドレスが表示されている方 → 【対象】 対応が必要です。
　・「メールアカウントを追加する」のみ表示されている方 → 【対象外】 対応不要です。

2. 必要な対応（対象者のみ）

今後も外部メールを大学のGmailで受信したい場合は、取り込み元のメールサービス側（Yahoo!やプロバイダ等の設定画面）で、「大学のGmailアドレスへの自動転送」を設定してください。

※Gmail側から「取りに行く」機能は廃止されますが、外部から「転送されてくる」メールは引き続き受信可能です。

3. よくある質問

Q1： IMAP設定に変更すれば、PCブラウザでも受信できますか？

A1.：いいえ、できません。 ブラウザ版GmailにはIMAP受信機能がありません。PCブラウザで閲覧したい場合は、必ず上記の「自動転送」を設定してください。

Q2.：スマホのGmailアプリはどうですか？

A2.：アプリなら可能です。 アプリの設定で「アカウントを追加」を行えば閲覧できますが、その内容はPCブラウザ版（Web画面）には反映されませんのでご注意ください。

4. 廃止時期

2026年1月 

Due to changes in Google's specifications starting January 2026, the feature that allows you to fetch and receive emails from external accounts (such as Yahoo! Mail, ISP mail, or personal Gmail) within the university's browser-based Gmail will be discontinued.

If you are currently using this feature, you will no longer be able to receive external emails via this method starting January 2026. Please check your settings and take the necessary actions described below.

1. How to Check If You Are Affected

Please open Gmail in a web browser on your PC and check the following:

　⑴ Click the Gear icon [⚙️] at the top right > Click [See all settings].

　⑵ Click the [Accounts] tab.

　⑶ Check the section labeled "Check mail from other accounts".
　・If you see an email address listed here: [Action Required]  You are affected.
　・If you only see "Add a mail account": [No Action Required]  You are not affected.

2. Required Action (For affected users only)

If you wish to continue receiving external emails in your university Gmail account, please log in to your external email provider (the source email service) and set up "Auto-forwarding" to your university email address.

＊Note: Although the feature for Gmail to "fetch" mail is being discontinued, receiving emails "forwarded" from other services will continue to work.

3. FAQ

Q1: Can I use IMAP settings to view external mail in the PC browser?
A1: No. The browser version of Gmail does not have an IMAP fetching feature. To view external mail in the browser, you must use the "Auto-forwarding" method described above.

Q2:Can I use the Gmail app on my smartphone?
A2: Yes. You can add an external account to the Gmail app on your phone via "Add another account." However, please note that these emails will not be visible or synced when you access Gmail via a PC web browser.
